Marisa Cruz Branco ’22 Receives Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellowship at LACMA

Marisa Cruz Branco ’22 is one of 22 college students nationwide who have been selected to participate in The Andrew W. Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellowship Program. The fellowship provides specialized training to students from historically underrepresented groups in the curatorial field and supports the goal of promoting inclusive, pluralistic museums. As a Mellon fellow, Branco will gain hands-on curatorial experience at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

Pitzer College Associate Professor of Art Tarrah Krajnak’s new book, El Jardin de Senderos Que Se Bifurcan, has been selected for MOMA’s inaugural list celebrating its ten favorite photobooks of the year. This recognition is one of the latest in a series of honors—including the Hariban Award Grand Prize and the Lewis Baltz Research Fund award—that Krajnak has recently received for her work.

Bridget Baker ’82 Honored for Groundbreaking Work by Cable Hall of Fame

Pitzer College Trustee Bridget Baker ’82, a cable industry pioneer who co-founded CNBC, will be inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame on November 15, 2021. The Cable Hall of Fame recognizes innovative leaders who have shaped and advanced the cable industry. The Cable Center named Baker to its Hall of Fame in 2020 but postponed the induction ceremony due to COVID-19. Other industry leaders who will be honored during the virtual event, which will air on C-SPAN3, include CNN founder Ted Turner, CNN President Jeff Zucker, and Urban One founder Cathy Hughes.
