Pitzer College President to Speak at TEDxFulbright in DC

TEDx FulbrightClaremont, Calif. (April 1, 2014) – Pitzer College President Laura Skandera Trombley will speak at TEDxFulbright at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC. Trombley, who was appointed by President Barack Obama to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in 2013, will present a talk titled “Servus! Lessons Learned in Presidential Leadership the Bavarian Way.”

President Trombley’s TEDx talk will draw from her experience studying and teaching in Germany, exploring how lessons she learned abroad have informed her role as a college president. Since Trombley took office in 2002, Pitzer has become a leader in student Fulbrights. For the past four years, the College has produced more student Fulbright winners than any other US liberal arts college.

TEDxFulbright’s full-day program will include 425 participants, 16 speakers, musical performances, facilitated networking activities and the Experience Lab, an interactive space with project and product demos. The event will be hosted by Ingo Zamperoni, German ARD Network’s Foreign Correspondent in Washington, DC.

TEDxFulbright will be webcast live; preregistration is required. Sign up here for the live webcast.
