Claremont, Calif. (April 25, 2013) – Pitzer College Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid Angel Perez has been awarded two prestigious honors, a US-France International Education Administrators Program Fulbright and a Winifred Hausam – Helen Fisk Award.
The US-France International Education Administrators Program Fulbright is a highly selective International Education Administrators (IEA) seminars program designed to help international education professionals and senior higher education officials from the United States create empowering connections with the societal, cultural and higher education systems of other countries. Only 12 people are granted US-France IEA Fulbrights each year. Applicants must be senior-level university administrators with substantial responsibility for enhancing the international dimension of their institutions.
Perez was also awarded a a Winifred Hausam – Helen Fisk Award. This award is presented to a Claremont Graduate University School of Educational Studies doctoral student who exemplifies excellence in academic studies, scholarly writing, internship experiences and extraordinary service to students in the higher education program. It honors the memories of Winifred Hausam and Helen Fisk, both pioneers in promoting career opportunities for women in the 1930s and ’40s and later, in advancing the college student personnel profession.
