Sagehen Baseball Ranks in Top Ten in Pre-Season Poll

Claremont, Calif. (January 13, 2010) — The Sagehen men’s baseball team ranked tenth in the 2010 NCAA Division III Pre-Season Poll. Conducted by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the ranking is based on multiple factors including last season standings, returning players, recruitment, staff and coaches’ vote.

“It is an honor to be recognized as one of the top teams in the nation. It’s a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the team. We look forward to pulling out another great season this year,” said Frank Pericolosi, head baseball coach.

Pitzer College joins with Pomona College to field 21 varsity teams – The Sagehens – that compete in Division III NCAA athletics and as members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
