Claremont, Calif. (October 5, 2009) – Pitzer College received an “A” rating from Fitch Ratings and an “A3” from Moody’s Investors Service.
Fitch Ratings assigned the College an “A” rating to reflect “Pitzer’s strong operation margins; satisfactory balance sheet liquidity; and solid student demand as evidenced by increasingly selective admissions and increased matriculation rates.”
The College received an “A3” from Moody’s Investors Service for its “strong fiscal management which has resulted in strong operating performance, strengthening market position supported by healthy net tuition per student growth and expectations of modest financial resource growth in the new term.”
Of the ratings, President Laura Skandera Trombley said, “These ratings reflect Pitzer’s careful and conscientious financial management. I am so pleased that our diligence was recognized by Moody’s and Fitch.”
Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Investors Service are two of the three nationally recognized statistical rating organizations designated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 1975.
