Brandon Kyle, Executive Director of Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving

Claremont, Calif. (August 20, 2021)—Pitzer College has named Brandon Kyle, an expert in constituent engagement and organizational change leadership, executive director of alumni & family engagement and annual giving. In this new role, Kyle will oversee the recently merged offices of Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving. Kimberly Shiner, vice president of college advancement and communications, combined the two offices earlier this month to foster deeper collaboration between engagement and philanthropy.

Kyle will lead the unified team, which will focus on institutional and community-wide engagement and campus and consortium partnerships. As part of the Office of College Advancement and Communications, Kyle’s team will aim to build an intentional culture of philanthropy and create a greater sense of community and belonging among Pitzer College constituents.

“Brandon’s expertise, vision, and commitment to Pitzer’s core values make him the perfect person to lead this team as they develop new and exciting ways to engage our entire college community,” Shiner said.

Kyle previously served as Pitzer’s director of alumni and family engagement and will continue managing the Pitzer College Alumni Board and Family Leadership Council. He will also oversee the strategic and tactical plans for constituent engagement and Pitzer’s Annual Fund.

Prior to his position as director of alumni and family engagement, Kyle led programs at several higher education institutions and nonprofits in California, including Pomona College; the University of California, Irvine; the March of Dimes Foundation; and PBS-KCET. His journey with Pitzer started more than six years ago when he served as Pitzer’s assistant director of parent relations.

Kyle earned his doctor of education in organizational change leadership from the University of Southern California, his MPA in nonprofit management and leadership from Cal State University, Northridge, and his BA from San Diego State University.
