About: In response to student requests and thanks to support from the Office of the President and the Office of the Treasurer, Pitzer Career Services is administering a fund to provide limited support to students who are preparing to take a graduate admissions examination.
Students may apply for funding to support CBEST, CSET, DAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, OAT, PCAT or TOEFL test preparation. Live or online test prep courses, materials such as test prep books and test prep software, will be considered for funding. Because cost reduction waivers are available from the testing organizations, funding from Pitzer College is not available for test registration fees.
Eligibility: Students of junior and senior (class of 2022 and class of 2023) status who are enrolled at Pitzer College are eligible to apply. Students must have demonstrated financial need as verified by the Financial Aid Office to receive funding.
Application Process: Through the link below, students apply by submitting contact information, a resume, budget, and the response to one essay question: “Explain why graduate school or professional school is important to your career plans.” Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout spring 2022 until funding is depleted. Applications open starting February 14, 2022.
Funding Levels: Applications for reimbursement are considered for a minimum of $100.00 and maximum of $1,000.00. Applications may be partially funded. The available budget for spring 2022 is $10,000.00. If approved for funding, documentation of test prep materials and courses must be submitted by April 22, 2022. If documentation is not submitted by that date funding offer will be rescinded.
Requirements: To be considered for a reimbursement, students must apply for funding prior to registering for a test preparation course or before purchasing materials. Funding cannot be utilized for test preparation courses already in progress or materials purchased before February 14, 2022. After approved for funding, documentation (i.e., invoices, receipts, etc.) will be required for reimbursement. Pitzer Test Prep Assistance Funding is not guaranteed by the submission of an application as the annual budget is very limited.
