Apply as a Non-Pitzer Student
Application Steps for Non-Pitzer Students
Step 1: Non-Pitzer students should contact their home institution's study abroad office before starting the application for one of the Pitzer Programs. Most institutions have internal study abroad deadlines students must meet before applying to external programs.
Step 2: Students should research the Pitzer Programs and be encouraged to contact Pitzer's Study Abroad and International Programs Office for additional information beyond our website.
Step 3: Once students have found a program of interest, they should complete an application within the application periods indicated below. Notification of acceptance is generally sent out within two weeks of receiving a complete application and supporting materials. We may consider late applications if a program has not been filled by the application closing date. We encourage students to apply early in the application period.

Additional Advising Notes for Non-Pitzer Students
- Academic Credit - A Pitzer Program is generally equivalent to a U.S. college or university semester with four courses (16 semester units; 24 quarter units). Summer programs are usually worth two courses (8-semester credits or 12 quarter units). Upon completion of the program, grades will be submitted to the Pitzer College Office of the Registrar, where they will be recorded on an official Pitzer College transcript and sent to the non-Pitzer student's host institution. Transcripts are generally available two to three months after the program ends. Before participating, students should understand their home campus policy for awarding credit and translating grades from a Pitzer College study abroad program.
- Costs - Many schools allow students to apply their financial aid funds to a study abroad program. Check with your study abroad or financial aid office for specifics on your institution’s policy. Pitzer does not offer financial aid to non-Pitzer students.
