The Claremont Colleges Advantage

Each of the colleges and universities that make up the The Claremont Colleges Consortium boasts distinct academic departments, research centers, institutes, cultural opportunities and recreational and gathering spaces.

2,130 Classes Available

Across The Claremont Colleges Consortium

Seven Institutions. Boundless Resources.

The Claremont Colleges Consortium is composed of five undergraduate colleges and two graduate schools. Collectively, they are known as the “7Cs.” All five of the undergraduate colleges sit on the same, contiguous campus, making it easy to get to an early morning class at Harvey Mudd or a concert at Pomona. In fact, it takes just 20 minutes to cross from one end of the Colleges' shared campus to the other.

Academics

Pitzer students are Claremont Colleges students, too. So, in addition to our wide-ranging on-campus curriculum, you’ll be able to take more than 2,100 courses across the five undergraduate colleges in the consortium. A typical Pitzer student takes half their classes at Pitzer, 40% at the other 5Cs, and 10% in the Department of Natural Sciences. And your status as a Claremont Colleges student means that you can declare an off-campus major in any field offered by another college in the consortium.

The Claremont Colleges Library

The Claremont Colleges Library

The academic heart of the 5C consortium, The Claremont Colleges Library provides study spaces, events, and research assistance to 5C students. And with a collection comprising more than 2.7 million items, it’s also one of the largest academic libraries in California.

Student Voices

“I feel lucky to be able to take classes, do research, and be a part of other 5C communities. At the end of the day, I really enjoy coming back to Pitzer, but there's something intellectually stimulating about engaging with people from the different schools.”
