Your journey to study abroad starts long before you board a plane. Follow these steps and timeline to make your study abroad plans a reality.

5-6 months before the deadline

  • Apply for a passport
  • Settle on a major and consider how study abroad fits into your academic plans
  • Explore programs

2-3 months before the deadline

  • Attend Info Sessions
  • Meet with study abroad and academic advisers
  • Plan financially for study abroad and apply for external scholarships

1-2 months before the deadline

  • Select your study abroad program and start your application
  • Speak with an alumnus of your study abroad program

Financial Planning

Pitzer College employs a one-price policy for study abroad, which affords all Pitzer students the opportunity to have international and intercultural experiences as part of their Pitzer education. For Pitzer College students the cost for a semester of study abroad is similar to the cost of a semester on campus in Claremont. Review the list of approved programs or use the Program Search tool to find the right study abroad program to fit your academic needs and budget.

Once you've selected your program, work on your study abroad application as a Pitzer student or non-Pitzer student. Start this process early!
