Student Life
Life at Pitzer means eating a sandwich made with greens harvested from the student garden, painting a mural on Mead Hall, and helping preserve Claremont’s ecosystem for future generations

Life at Pitzer

Living on Campus
From Mead Hall’s student murals to our new, LEED-certified residence halls, living on campus is at the heart of the Pitzer experience. The majority of Pitzer students live on campus all four years, and our dorms are carefully designed to facilitate connection and community-building.

Dining
Our campus eateries are beloved across the Claremont Colleges. The reason is simple: Our ingredients are better. Much of the food prepared in McConnell is organic, locally sourced, and prepared within 48 hours of harvest. And if you're looking for a change of pace, you can use your meal swipes to explore the 5Cs' 17 other eateries.

Affinity Groups
We’re committed to ensuring our campus is a safe space for everyone. We have several affinity groups which come together to form an Identity Board – a forum for groups from across campus to collaborate and promote shared interests.
Learn More About Affinity GroupsArts & Wellness
We host numerous on-campus events – from fitness classes to arts festivals – aimed at enriching your life as a Pitzer student.
Arts on Campus
Pitzer has long been a hub for the arts, in Claremont and beyond. Our Kohoutek music festival has been a campus tradition since the ‘70s, and has played host to local acts, student groups, and national bands. And with murals dotting campus, an art gallery that's always hosting new exhibits, and access to the artistic resources of seven campuses, you’ll never run short on things to do in the arts.

Pitzer College Art Galleries
Pitzer's two art galleries — the Nichols Gallery and the Lenzner Family Art Gallery — have played host to a range of exhibitions from emerging and established artists. As a Pitzer student, you'll have the chance to visit and engage with the galleries' diverse exhibits, and to shape the galleries' future through our various fellowships.

KSPC 88.7 FM
KSPC is the Claremont Colleges’ radio station. In keeping with Pitzer’s tradition of student leadership, the station’s shows are hosted entirely by student and community volunteers. If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a radio DJ, apply to host a show!

Recreation & Wellness
We offer a wide variety of ways to get active on campus. The Gold Student Health and Wellness Center provides a fitness classes, a fully equipped gym, and a pool just minutes from your dorm. And if you’re looking for more space, the Pomona-Pitzer Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness provides nearly 100,000 square feet of space for sports, training, and classes.

Club Sports
If you’re looking to compete in a team sport, try club sports. Our club sports programs offer the chance to represent Pitzer in casual competitions with other colleges. And whether you’re just starting out or have had years of competitive experience, club sports is a great place to play, train, and compete in your sport.

Intramural Sports
For a friendly, casual space to compete in a sport of your choosing, try intramural sports. Intramural seasons are short — we have four a year — and give you the chance to try out a new sport and play with teams as part of a recreational league.

2024 CPN Seal of Prevention Honoree
We’re proud to be recognized as a 2024 CPN Seal of Prevention Honoree for our commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and welcoming campus for our students, faculty, staff, and broader community.
