COVID-19 Update

April 8, 2022

Dear Pitzer Community,

As we come to the close of our week, we are pleased to report a current decline in positive COVID-19 cases at Pitzer. As of this morning, we have four new positive cases, down from seven yesterday.

We currently have a total of 41 cases in isolation, with 32 of those on campus. These are nearly all student cases, with transmission occurring among friend groups and close contacts, including students living off campus. About half of the cases are asymptomatic, and others have varying levels of symptoms, with no hospitalizations to date.

We continue to work closely with our healthcare providers, and they are optimistic that we will continue to see positive cases trending downward.  We are staying the course with existing mitigation guidance, implemented in alignment with our doctors’ and L.A. County’s requirements.

Please monitor the Pathway Forward website for regular updates and to connect to resources and support.

Thank you for being mindful of each other during this time.

NOTE: There is typically a 1-2 day delay in reporting positive cases on the Pitzer COVID-19 dashboard, and the dashboard only shows Student Health Services-diagnosed cases.
