C/W: Loss of life
Dear Pitzer Community:
I write with further information about the passing last Sunday of Pitzer student Alex Mendez Reyes ̓24.
Alex’s family has agreed to allow us to inform you that their son’s death was determined by County authorities to be the result of a tragic road accident in Los Angeles. Our thoughts are with the Reyes family, with Alex’s friends, the Diversity Program team, his professors, and all who have been impacted by his sudden loss.
We at Pitzer acknowledge that everyone processes grief and loss in their own unique way and encourage you to access the resources being provided throughout the semester. A student-led gathering is being planned for next week, and we will ensure those details are shared with the community.
