Dear Pitzer Community:

I am deeply saddened to write with the news that Pitzer student Alexander Mendez Reyes  ̓24 passed away in the early hours of this morning in Los Angeles. We are in close, supportive contact with Alex’s family during this difficult time. We will write again when we know about their plans and how our community can best come together to honor Alex.

I am so sorry to have to deliver this news. This sudden loss has impacted us all, and support for our community is available as we all process grief. 

Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services are available for confidential counseling support today from 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. in the Office of Student Affairs (Scott Hall 120).

Vice President for Student Affairs Sandra Vasquez and Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students Vince Greer are also available for support from 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
