Dear Pitzer Community,

On this last day of classes, I want to send my very best wishes to all our students. You have done exceptional work during exceptionally hard times. You have learned together and looked after each other. You are remarkable, and I hope everyone has a chance to virtually visit today’s Academic Festival, which showcases our students’ dedication, creativity, and academic accomplishments.

I’d also like to express my deep gratitude to the faculty and staff for all you have done for our students and for all the ingenuity and generosity that have been on full display over these past nine months.

I will take this opportunity to invite everyone to join me as we celebrate our graduating seniors during Pitzer’s virtual Commencement ceremony on May 15. Although we may not be together in person, we are unified in our admiration of the Class of 2021, and commencement encapsulates why we are all here—the cumulative power of education to change the story of our lives.

Provida Futuri,

Melvin L. Oliver
