Faculty Curricular Resources

The Registrar’s Office works collaboratively with the Curriculum Committee which is tasked with assembling annual curriculum offerings and ensuring student curricular needs are met. The Call for Courses is now available on a single platform within the portal to propose and edit course selections.

Thursday, February 6, 2025: Academic Year 2025-2026 Call for Courses portal open

Friday, March 7, 2025: Deadline for Academic Year 2025-2026 Call for Courses submissions

Friday, September 12, 2025: Draft of Spring 2026 courses to faculty and reminder for revisions (Call for Courses grid in faculty portal open for submissions)

Wednesday, October 8, 2025: Deadline for Spring 2026 course additions and revisions (portal Call for Courses grid locked)

Monday, October 27, 2025: Spring 2026 course schedule available on the portal

Tuesday, November 11, 2025: Spring 2026 Pre-registration begins

Schedule information for existing courses should be submitted via the Call for Courses section of the faculty portal. Newly approved courses may not be reflected on the portal—if you are not able to find a course on the portal, please submit the changes via email to registrar@pitzer.edu).

How to Access the Call for Courses Grid

How to Lock the Call for Courses Grid (for Curricular Liaisons)

New courses or changes to existing courses such as title, course description, Educational Objectives, prerequisites, etc should be submitted via the course form. A link to the New/Revised Course Form is also available on the Call for Courses section of the faculty portal. Please keep in mind that these modifications generally need to be approved by the Curriculum Committee, so please submit these types of changes as soon as possible to allow for the approval timeline. 

Standard Course Times

The 5C common course times are available in the Pitzer College Catalog. The following time blocks are reserved:

  • Thursdays (R) 4:15-5:30 is allocated for faculty meetings, workshops, and college council meetings.
  • Monday and Wednesday (MW) 12:15-1:15pm is allocated for committee meetings, job talks, and other outside speakers.
  • Please spread course offerings throughout the week and throughout the day: For Field Groups with two or more full-􀀂me faculty members, the Faculty Handbook regulations require at least 10% of the courses to be scheduled MWF at 8 a.m. or TR at 8:10 a.m. over a two-year period. Other nonimpacted times include evenings and F 1:15-4:00 p.m.

Non-Standard Course Times

Non-standard course times must be approved by the Dean of Faculty. By consortial agreement, all courses must begin at a common start time, even if they end at different times (for labs, screenings, studios, discussions, etc.). Note: Non-standard course times can impact the availability of classrooms options.
