Pitzer College Parking Permit Process

Bringing a vehicle to campus requires prior approval through the parking permit process. Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements for a permit still have several parking and transportation alternatives available. Unauthorized vehicles parked on campus during restricted hours may result in citations and could affect future parking eligibility. Please review the information below carefully to understand the timeline, eligibility criteria, application process, and alternative options.

Virtual Parking Permit Drawing — First Week of May

virtual parking permit drawing will be held for rising seniors during the first week of May. Eligible rising seniors will receive an email inviting them to opt in if they wish to bring a car to campus for their senior year. Selected students will be notified and allowed to accept their permit.

Once the number of accepted permits from rising seniors is finalized, the remaining permits will be offered to rising juniors through the same opt-in lottery process.

Students selected in the lottery (seniors and juniors) will be notified by email and provided with detailed next steps.

Students with an approved medical, mobility, or internship-related need may submit a parking permit request through the form below at anytime:

đź”— Submit the Parking Permit Request Form for Accommodations

This form is only for students who meet one of the following criteria:

  • Have a documented medical or mobility condition
  • Have a verified off-campus internship requiring travel by car

Parking permit approval is prioritized for students with mobility disabilities to ensure access to campus. Because of limited availability, requests from students serving as caregivers cannot be approved. Accommodation requests must be directly related to a student’s documented disability, and parking permits may be approved only when the disability results in a campus access limitation.

All requests require appropriate supporting documentation and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Please do not park your car on campus during business hours (Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm) without an approved parking permit.

  • Unauthorized vehicles on campus during these hours may result in:

    • Disqualification from future parking permit eligibility.

    • Towing at the owner's expense.

    • Vehicle citations billed to your student account.

We understand that parking is important, and we want to provide you with the following alternatives if you do not meet the requirements for an on-campus parking permit:

  • Street Parking: You may park along Claremont Boulevard from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday. Overnight parking is prohibited.

  • Evening & Weekend Campus Parking: Outside of these hours, you are welcome to move your car onto campus.

  • Work Hours Rule: Please note that vehicles must be moved off campus during regular working hours (7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) to avoid receiving a campus citation.

  • Zipcar Program: Pitzer’s Zipcar Program provides vehicles that can be reserved for short-term use, including emergencies when you need to leave campus.

  • Housing Option: Students may request a housing change to CCA, where residents are provided with on-site parking

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to transportation@pitzer.edu if you have any questions about the parking permit process, eligibility, or policies.
