Pitzer College Parking Permit Process
Bringing a vehicle to campus requires prior approval through the parking permit process. Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements for a permit still have several parking and transportation alternatives available. Unauthorized vehicles parked on campus during restricted hours may result in citations and could affect future parking eligibility. Please review the information below carefully to understand the timeline, eligibility criteria, application process, and alternative options.
Approved Student Parking Locations
- Holden Lot – East of McConnell, in spaces not reserved or labeled.
- Pitzer Road – Between 9th Street and the yellow bollards (no parking above the yellow bollards).
- East Mesa Lot – In unmarked, non-reserved spaces.
Prohibited Parking Areas
- Sanborn Lot and Mills Avenue – Reserved for faculty and staff.
- Spaces reserved for faculty/staff or visitors (7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Mon–Fri).
- Admissions Parking in the East Mesa Lot on the west end (always reserved for guests).
- Outback, above the yellow bollards
Staff and Faculty Parking Locations
- Holden Lot – East of McConnell, in spaces not reserved or labeled.
- Pitzer Road – Between 9th Street and the yellow bollards (no parking above the yellow bollards).
- East Mesa Lot – In unmarked, non-reserved spaces.
- Sanborn Lot -On the corner of 9th and Mills Ave.
- Mills Ave- Parking is permitted on the east side of Mills Avenue only.
Parking above the yellow bollards on Pitzer Service Road is strictly prohibited. This roadway is designated exclusively for service and emergency vehicles only. Any unauthorized vehicles will be subject to citation
EV Charging Stations
Only permitted vehicles may use EV stations. Charging is limited to 6 hours. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.
General Parking Restrictions
Parking is not allowed in:
- Red zones (except emergency or U.S. Postal Service vehicles)
- Within 15 feet of fire hydrants
- Fire lanes
- Green zones (time-limited areas)
- Loading dock areas
- The Outback and top of Pitzer Service Road
Penalties & Appeals
- Citation fines will be billed to the student’s account.
- Appeals may be submitted in writing to the Campus Safety Traffic Appeals Committee within 10 days of the citation. Approved appeals will result in reversal of charges.
