Roundup of Sagehen Athletics’ latest academic honors
After studying plants at Harvard this summer, a student recalls the racial justice series that brought them to Pitzer and looks ahead to studying abroad in Southern Africa.
The three graduates credit their professors, who come from all five of The Claremont Colleges, and the nature of the Inside-Out model itself for their motivation and success.
During the 2022–23 academic year, Pitzer students and alumni earned a multitude of awards and fellowships to conduct research, teach English, create social change, engage communities, and pursue their academic interests around the globe.
Award recipients have strived for social change, whether by leading writing workshops, combining athletics and mental wellness, launching community composting, or producing reentry resources for formerly incarcerated and homeless people.
“My research focuses on exploring how U.S. citizens are trained and disciplined to uphold white hetero-patriarchies through youth soccer culture,” said Pugh.
