The Great ShakeOut!

The ShakeOut began in Southern California 2008 as a drill to educate the public about how to protect themselves during a large earthquake, and how to get prepared.

Millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On on October 20, 2022 during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills.

Be prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes– wherever you live, work, or travel.

Pitzer College is joining 44 million people worldwide in the Great ShakeOut, an annual earthquake preparedness drill, on Thursday, October 20 at 10:20 a.m.

At 10:20 a.m. on 10.20, the College’s Emergency Management Committee will issue an alert via text and email. When you receive the notification, Drop, Cover and Hold.
