2018 HEDS Survey Results on Sexual Assault and Campus Climate

October 30, 2018

Dear Pitzer Community,

Last spring, Pitzer participated in the HEDS survey. I thank all our students who participated in this voluntary survey that provides valuable insight and helps Pitzer and The Claremont Colleges in the very important work of keeping our communities safe. I share with you the Presidents’ joint letter, and links to Pitzer College’s and the 5C survey results. Please review these materials at these links:

A Pitzer College open forum is planned for Monday, November 5 by Mike Segawa and the Office of Student Affairs in partnership with the Student Senate Executive Board to discuss the data and plan our next steps in preventing and responding to sexual assault and dating violence on campus. Your participation is very important. Please plan on attending.

Pitzer’s Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Policies and Procedures were updated in July. If you have not yet reviewed the new policies, I encourage you to do so now. As a reminder, anyone who believes they have been subjected to discrimination, harassment, retaliation or sexual misconduct is encouraged to report the conduct to the Title IX Coordinator or other designated College representative. For more information about support resources and reporting options, visit: www.pitzer.edu/about/title-ix/.

Provida Futuri,

Melvin L. Oliver
