Seven Things to Do at Pitzer’s Family Weekend

From November 6 to 8, families and students can experience campus life together while connecting with faculty, staff, and leadership.

Enjoy a sweet reunion at Pitzer’s Family Weekend from November 6 to 8, 2026. Both families and students have their pick of bonding activities they can do together.

Here are seven experiences you shouldn’t miss:

1. Learn from Pitzer faculty in the classroom

Parents can meet the professors teaching and mentoring their students. Students can introduce their favorite professor to their families. At the Interact & Engage sessions, you can learn about faculty’s latest research and get the classroom experience without the homework.

2. Celebrate the Harvest Festival and campus life with students

Planned by Pitzer students, the annual Harvest Festival boasts fall-themed festivities, food, and entertainment. The weekend has lots of other opportunities to immerse yourself in day-to-day life at Pitzer—including tours, sustainability experiences, and creative activities.

3. Meet College leadership

Before the Harvest Festival, make a toast to Pitzer with College leadership at an open cocktail hour. Get to know the leaders who strive to support students in every facet of campus life. Bonus: you can also join President Strom C. Thacker and First Spouse Isabelle Thacker for a community hike on the last day of Family Weekend!

4. Explore justice in action through an award-winning documentary

“The Second Life of Freddie Nole” is a short documentary following a man who spent 50 years in prison and now meets newly released men at the prison gates—offering a second chance. The screening is hosted by members of the Pitzer Alumni Association’s Inclusion and Justice Committee.

5. Participate in wellness programming

From yoga on The Mounds to making friendship bracelets to an annual 5K, wellness activities abound at Family Weekend. See the many resources available to support mental and emotional well-being on campus.

6. Cheer on the Sagehens at Pomona-Pitzer Athletics games

7. Connect with other Pitzer families

Check in for registration, browse Pitzer gear, and enjoy snacks at the Family & Friends Lounge at the McConnell Center Living Room. Members of the Family Leadership Council and staff are available to answer all Pitzer questions! For parents who miss the PTA days and want to be more involved, consider connecting with the Family Association and Family Leadership Council.
