Pomona-Pitzer Cross-Country and Soccer Named SCIAC Champions
The Sagehens in men’s cross-country and women’s soccer have picked up 2025 SCIAC Championships
The Pomona-Pitzer men’s cross-country team continued its dominance on November 1 by capturing its fifth straight SCIAC championship.
The Sagehens finished with 29 points and placed five runners in the top ten. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne followed in second and third place with 48 and 100 points, respectively.
Jack Stein PO’26 led Pomona-Pitzer with first place individual finish, running a time of 24:33.5. Amir Barkan, Peter Neid PO’27, Jefferson Wright PO’28, and Ian Sharp PO’29 followed and finished 5th, 6th, 7th, and 10th overall. Barkan finished with 25:17.5, Neid with 25:22.4, Wright with 25:25.2, and Sharp finished with a time of 25:40.9.
The Sagehens will compete in the NCAA Division III Cross Country West Region Championships at home in Claremont, Calif., on November 15 at 9 a.m.
The Pomona-Pitzer women’s soccer team also started the month on a high point with a 2–1 win in their Senior Day game against Redlands on November 1. With the win, the Sagehens secured the 2025 Regular Season SCIAC Champions for the seventh year in a row.
With the win, the Sagehens continue their season 13–0–3 overall and 8–0–3 in SCIAC play.
Pomona-Pitzer started the first half well, finding an early lead when midfielder Sabina Peterson Rajalingam PO’29 secured the first goal of the game in the first 30 seconds. Pomona-Pitzer entered halftime in the lead, 1–0.
The Sagehens widened that lead with another goal at the 51-minute mark scored by Kendrick Dahlin PO’26 off an assist from Imogen Roy Jenkyn PO’28 that put the Sagehens ahead 2–0. Redlands responded by scoring their first goal of the game. It wasn’t enough, though, and the Sagehens kept their composure and secured a 2–1 victory over Redlands.
