Eight Sagehens Earn Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Honors

Northborough, Mass. (May 18, 2023)—The Pomona-Pitzer women’s lacrosse team earned eight All-West Region selections as announced by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

The Sagehen lacrosse team made a huge splash in the west region with eight players being named to the list. Pitzer’s Sydney Landauer ’25, Shoshi Henderson PO’25, Claire LeBlanc PO’23, Fiona Lewis PO’25, Maggie Sweeney PO’23, and Caroline Worthington PO’23 made the list as First Team selections while Eloise Cherian PO’23 and Pitzer’s Carly Sullivan ’23 earned Second Team All-West honors.

Landauer led the charge for the Sagehens on offense after she tallied 117 points to date with 65 goals and 52 assists. She was the main attraction on offense for the Sagehens with 81% of her shots on goal. Landauer also recently earned Offensive Player of the Year in the SCIAC Postseason Awards.

Rounding out the Second Team was senior midfielder Sullivan. Sullivan and Sweeney were a huge factor in the Sagehens’ success in the midfield this season. She had 32 caused turnovers with 27 ground balls and managed to get five points as well throughout the season.

The IWLCA has honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2023. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2023 All-American teams on May 24.
