The mural, “Pitzer Past, Present, and Future,” was painted by students on the east wall of Avery Hall under the supervision of Paul Botello, Pitzer’s artist-in-residence during the 1996-97 academic year.
Today, that mural — a joyful celebration of solidarity at the heart of the Pitzer community — is still in the same location, but it’s now protected from the elements by the creation of the Stein Atrium. In 2008, Botello and a team of students expanded the mural, which greets visitors to events held at the college’s Benson Auditorium.
