Student Accounts Policies
Late Fee Policy
As a courtesy, the College allows the first billing cycle to pass before assessing late fees. After that point, a late fee of 1% of the total outstanding balance will be applied to unpaid balances. Each student is eligible for a one-time late fee waiver during their enrollment at the College. This waiver is not offered annually and may only be used once during the student’s time at the College.
Student Account Holds Policy
Students who are not enrolled in a payment plan are considered Full Pay students. If payment in full is not received by the second billing due date of the semester, a Student Account Hold will be placed on all accounts with balances of $100 or more. A late fee will also be assessed.
Students enrolled in a payment plan who are not current on their installment payments will also receive a Student Account Hold and late fee.
All students will be contacted in accordance with the College’s standard hold notification procedures.
Collections Policy
Students with unresolved balances who remain on hold, are unable to register, and have not responded to outreach attempts will be referred to a third party collections agency at the end of the semester in which the balance remains unpaid. All debt will be resolved with that agency and not Pitzer College at that point.
Personal Payment Plans
The College does not offer individualized or personal payment plans outside of the standard payment plan option available.
Move-In Clearance Policy
Students will not be cleared for move-in at the start of the semester if they have not either:
- Paid their balance in full
- Submitted the required installment payment toward their balance
Housing and meal plan access will be deactivated two weeks prior to move-in for students who do not meet these requirements. Students will be notified via email if this occurs.
Once the required payment has been submitted, the student will be cleared for move-in.
