Pitzer and The Claremont Colleges Network

As a Pitzer student, your professional network extends well beyond one campus. Through the Claremont Colleges consortium, you are part of a 7C community that includes five undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions.

This means expanded access to alumni, employers, events, workshops, and professional connections across:

  • Pitzer College
  • Pomona College
  • Claremont McKenna College
  • Harvey Mudd College
  • Scripps College
  • Claremont Graduate University
  • Keck Graduate Institute

Explore key tools to help you tap into both the Pitzer network and the broader 7C community.

7C Networking Tools

The Pitzer Professional Directory (PPD) is a searchable database of Pitzer alumni and current parents who have volunteered to connect with students for career exploration and networking.

Students can search by industry, profession, organization, location, and Pitzer major to identify individuals who may be open to informational conversations. Because the PPD is built specifically for Pitzer students, it offers a supportive and accessible starting point for outreach.

Accessing the PPD:

  • Juniors and seniors are granted automatic access through their MyCampus2 portal.
  • First-years and sophomores can gain access after meeting with a Career Advisor.

If you are unsure about your access, Career Services can help.

LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional networking platform. It allows you to create an online professional profile that highlights your education, experience, skills, and interests.

While LinkedIn is not affiliated with Pitzer College, it is a powerful tool for connecting with alumni, exploring career paths, and building your professional network starting as early as your first year.

Students can connect with:

  • Pitzer alumni and parents
  • Alumni across all seven Claremont Colleges
  • Employers, recruiters, and professionals in their fields of interest
  • Faculty, supervisors, mentors, and peers

Building your network early allows you to explore industries, learn from professionals, and create connections that can support internships, jobs, and graduate study.

Finding Alumni Across the 7Cs on LinkedIn

Use the Alumni Tool

Visit the LinkedIn page for Pitzer or any of the Claremont Colleges and click the “Alumni” tab. You can filter alumni by where they work, what they studied, what they do, and where they live.

You can repeat this process for each of the 7C institutions to explore an even broader professional network.

Join Alumni Groups

Students may request to join alumni groups, such as "The Official Pitzer College Alumni Association" group, to increase visibility into alumni profiles and networking opportunities.

Join the PZ Alumni, Student, and Family Career Network

Students are also encouraged to join the “Pitzer College – PZ Alumni, Student, and Family Career Network” group on LinkedIn.

This group is dedicated to Pitzer students, alumni, families, and community members who want to connect one-on-one for mentoring, shadowing, informational interviews, and career conversations.

Members can:

  • Share job, internship, and event opportunities
  • Ask about career paths or graduate school experiences
  • Request informational interviews or job shadowing
  • Seek feedback on resumes or portfolios
  • Offer guidance to students exploring specific industries

Connections in this group are self-facilitated, meaning students can directly reach out to other members to begin a conversation.

The group is maintained and monitored by the Pitzer College Student Senate, the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement, and Career Services.

The 7C Professional Advantage

Through the consortium, Pitzer students benefit from shared access to:

  • Career fairs and employer recruiting events hosted across the 7Cs
  • Workshops, panels, and networking programs at any of the colleges
  • Employer partnerships developed through multiple career offices
  • Alumni communities spanning undergraduate and graduate institutions

Your network is not limited to one college. You are part of a broader professional ecosystem with deep alumni reach and diverse industry connections.
