April 18, 2025
Dear Pitzer Community:
I’m pleased to introduce you to David Joseph Montoya III who the College has engaged as a consultant to assist us in assessing the structure and nature of Pitzer’s academic programming related to Native and Indigenous peoples. Over the next several months, David will be collecting and synthesizing information with the goal of developing actionable recommendations for future work within Academic Affairs. David has provided a self-introduction that I am sharing with you below this message.
In addition to this written introduction, I invite all community members to a coffee cart in the Scott Courtyard on Thursday, April 24, from 9:00 – 11:00 am to meet David in person over a cup of coffee and pastry. David will be on campus that day and will also be holding open office hours, so there will be opportunities to meet David even if you cannot make the coffee cart.
I thank David in advance for the work that he is embarking on in partnership with the College. I hope to see many of you on Thursday morning.
Allen M. Omoto, Ph.D.
