TCCS, Consortium & Off-Campus Employers
Approved TCCS departments/programs based at the Consortium and off-campus organizations have the opportunity to employ Pitzer students. Students who have work-study are traditionally hired and paid by Pitzer College.
TCCS, Consortium & Off-Campus Employers with Contracts
Organizations that currently have off-campus contracts:
- Should follow the posting information provided below.
- Should verify that their students are eligible for work-study (as this is the source of their earnings).
- May hire non-work-study students if paid directly by the organization.
The Office of Financial Aid will email off-campus contracts to supervisors on file. All off-campus contracts must be renewed each school year. The time period for an off-campus contract for any given academic year will be September 1 to May 31. The off-campus contract must be signed and returned to the Office of Financial Aid before the student may begin working.

Billing & Payment
The Office of Financial Aid will bill each off-campus employer at the end of every semester for payment of 30% of the student’s wages and workers’ compensation. Customer Invoices will not be issued for fall and spring semester bills. Instead, Pitzer College will be submitting the intercompany journal on behalf of your department to bill for Off-Campus and Overages. Off-campus employers are required to provide their worktags to the Office of Financial Aid before hiring students.
For questions regarding your invoice please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 909.621.8208 or by financial_aid@pitzer.edu.
Organizations without Contracts
Organizations that do not currently have off-campus contracts are responsible for paying their Pitzer student employees (regardless of whether the student is eligible for work-study).
If you are interested in establishing a contract, please reach out to the Office of Financial Aid at financial_aid@pitzer.edu.
Pitzer-Pomona Shared Resources & Departments
Organizations that are considered a Pitzer-Pomona shared resource/department:
Work-Study
Work-study students who work for these departments are hired and paid by Pitzer College and can only earn up to the amount of the work-study allotment. Students who exceed their work-study allotment will be asked to stop working unless the department has additional resources to continue your employment.
Non Work-Study
Non work-study students are hired and paid directly by the department, which is a part of Pomona College, not Pitzer. Students are paid directly by the organization and may be limited in earnings based on the organization’s budget.
Pitzer-Pomona Shared Resources & Departments
- Intercollegiate Department of Asian American Studies (IDAAS)
- Intercollegiate Department of Africana Studies (IDAS)
- Intercollegiate Media Studies
- Intercollegiate Neuroscience Program
- Queer Resource Center (QRC) – Pomona
- Rains Center/Athletics – Pomona
- Theatre & Dance Department – Pomona
Work-Study Hours/Limits
Work-study students should work anywhere between 5 – 7 hours per week in order to earn their work-study allocation evenly throughout the academic year. Students are able to work up to 8 hours per day and 20 hours per week while classes are in session; however, continually doing so may cause the student to run out of funding mid-semester. Students have access to their work-study allotment on their student portal and can also print an aid eligibility letter.
Students should work between 5 – 7 hours/week to ensure they do not run out of work-study funds.
Posting Positions
Posting positions in Handshake, The Claremont Colleges primary career services platform, allows all eligible students to seek jobs of interest and promotes equity in the selection and hiring process. Supervisors/departments are invited to publicize opportunities in addition to the posting.
