Family Orientation and Move-in Day 2025

Family Orientation and Move-in Day will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, and is designed to help families feel informed, supported, and connected as their student begins their Pitzer journey.

8 a.m.–Noon 
Student Registration Move-in Time Slots 
Location: East Mesa Parking Lot 
Upon arrival, families will follow their assigned move-in window based on the student’s last name:

  • 8 - 8:45 a.m.: A-F and new PP Athletes
  • 8:45 - 9:30 a.m.: G-L
  • 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.: M-R
  • 10:15 - 11 a.m.: S-Z

8 a.m.–Noon 
Family Registration + Letter to Your Student Activity 
Location: Gold Student Center, Multipurpose Room 
After moving in, families will visit the registration area to check in and pick up materials for the Letter to Your Student activity.

8 a.m.–5 p.m. 
Family and Friends Lounge + Pitzer Store + Letter to Your Student Activity 
Location: McConnell Center, Living Room

10:30–11:15 a.m. 
Athletics Information Session  
(for winter and spring athletes and families) 
Location: CARW, Voelkel Gymnasium 
Transportation provided by Pomona College Sage Coach.  
Pick-up Location: Avery Gates on Mills Avenue.

10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. 
New Student Gift from Alumni Association 
Location: Benson Auditorium Atrium

Noon–1:30 p.m. 
Family Welcome Lunch 
Location: McConnell Center, Dining Hall 
Overflow seating in the Founders Room.

1:45–3 p.m. 
Insights to Life at Pitzer 
Location: Benson Auditorium  
(Overflow seating in Fletcher and Broad Halls) 
This engaging session introduces families to academic and co-curricular life at Pitzer. Campus leaders will speak about Academic Advising, PASS + Strive2Thrive, Study Abroad, Career Services, the Community Engagement Center (CEC), Residence Life, and The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS).  
A Q&A will follow.

1:45–3 p.m. 
Spanish-Speaking Session / Información acerca de la vida en Pitzer 
Location: Broad Hall, Language Lab

3:15–4:15 p.m. 
FirstGen Reception 
Location: Grove House, Outdoor Classroom

3:30–5 p.m. 
Resource Fair 
Location: Gold Student Center and Terrace

6:45–6 p.m. 
Community Dinner 
Location: Commencement Plaza

6–8 p.m. 
Family Farewell 
Location: The Mounds

6:30–8 p.m. 
Cheers & Tears Reception 
Location: President’s Residence
