Call for Associate Dean; materials due November 20

 

Full-time Pitzer faculty are invited to self-nominate or nominate colleagues to serve a three-year term as Associate Dean to begin as soon as possible.  This 11-month appointment includes teaching release as well as financial compensation.

 

Although there is some flexibility, the portfolio envisioned for this Associate Dean focuses on academic planning and institution-focused work.  Responsibilities include some or all of the following areas:

 

Responsibilities also include some staff supervision, governance engagement, and collaborations with DoF, Pitzer offices and programs (e.g., Office of Institutional Research and Assessment), and across the consortium.     

 

Nominees should be full-time Pitzer faculty members who have experience planning and completing projects of different scale.  They should have good communication skills, demonstrable experience working effectively as a member of a team, and must value collaboration, transparency, and ethical decision-making processes and actions. 

 

To self-nominate, please submit a current cv and a statement of interest (1000 words or less) describing 1) relevant expertise and experience, and 2) specifying portfolio domains of greatest interest from the list above or other areas for contribution.  Pitzer faculty can also nominate colleagues by submitting the nominee’s name and a brief note of explanation for their nomination. DoF will follow up with nominees about their interest in the position.
