CEC Trainings & Workshops

The CEC offers trainings and workshops for students interested in deepening their understanding of community engagement and explore diverse frameworks of social justice. Our events are designed to empower emerging student leaders to become effective and thoughtful stewards of change.
CEC Orientation & Ethics Training
Students taking a Social Responsibility Praxis course are required to take this training once an academic year unless otherwise determined by their faculty member. If you completed this training in the Fall you won't need t attend/complete this training until the following academic year.
Preparing for Community Engagement
The CEC offers the Orientation & Ethics training in person once a semester to all students planning on participating in community engagement on and off campus. During these sessions we also offer on campus Live Scan Fingerprinting to students taking courses that are working with protected communities.

If you missed our in person Orientation & Ethics Training, we offer an asynchronous/alternative version. This must be completed by the following dates based on the semester you complete it:
- Fall Deadline | Sunday, September 21st, 2025
- Spring Deadline | Sunday, February 15th, 2026
Steps to Completing the Alternative Training:

- Complete the short Orientation & Ethics Training Quiz
- Complete the CEC Student Intake Form*
- Complete the CEC Ethics Contract*
*All students are required to come the CEC Student Intake Form and CEC Ethics Contract, regardless of whether they need to complete the CEC Orientation & Ethics Training
