You can review the detailed student schedule outline below. Please note: students will gain access to Engage, our student engagement platform, as NSO approaches which will include more specifics. Be sure to keep an eye on your Pitzer email for more info!
*International Students: You will be required to come to campus a few days early for International Student Orientation starting on Wednesday, August 13. Be on the lookout for emails from the International Programs Office with more details!
*Fall Pomona-Pitzer Athletes: You may be required to come to campus a few days early. Be on the lookout for emails from PP Athletics or your coach with more details about move in, parent & family welcome sessions, and more!
Orientation Schedule Outline
Summer Tasks & Communication
Late May | Information Technology (IT) will email you with your Pitzer email address, single sign-on (SSO) login credentials, and Pitzer ID number. Be sure to set up your account as soon as you get this email so you’ll have everything in place to complete your remaining summer tasks below.
Early June | You’ll gain access to Canvas, Pitzer’s course management platform, which will serve as your guide to all NSO pre-arrival tasks and details. This will be the starting point for your orientation experience!
July 1 | Deadline to complete pre-arrival tasks.
Late July | Housing, Orientation Adventure (OA) trip, and First Year Seminar (FYS) placements will be released via email.
Academic Orientation
Important Academic Orientation information will be available on Canvas in the beginning of July. It is important that you spend some time reviewing that information and taking the necessary placement exams.
July | Transfer Advising & Enrollment - Your faculty advisor will be reaching out to you individually for advising and enrollment clearance.
July 31 - August 6 | Virtual Academic Planning Faculty Office Hours - You will be able to sign up for a slot on Canvas.
August 7 | First Year Pre-Enrollment - You will be assigned a time slot between 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM during which you will be able to enroll in courses.
Time slots are assigned by last name. More detailed move in info will be emailed out in early August.
- 8:00 - 8:45 AM: A-F and new PP Athletes
- 8:45 - 9:30 AM: G-L
- 9:30 - 10:15 AM: M-R
- 10:15 - 11:00 AM: S-Z

Students will spend time exploring the local Southern California area. Your trips begin on Monday, August 18, morning and conclude on Wednesday, August 20, at lunchtime.
For camping trips, you will be sleeping off campus at various campsites. For local trips, you will return to campus each night to sleep. Trip assignments will be sent out via email at the end of July.
