Reaccreditation Materials

Pitzer College submitted a self-study institutional report in July 2018 which addressed the previous recommendations of the commission, identified institutional strengths and vulnerabilities, as well as provided relevant updates. An Interim Report and Response was completed in 2019 and in that year the college completed its last reaccreditation with a reaffirmation period of eight years, highlighting Pitzer's commitment to education effectiveness and our core objectives. Accreditation Resources & Info
Pitzer College is approaching its reaffirmation date, with several steps currently underway in preparation for the site visit in 2027. Currently, a committee of Faculty, Staff, and Students are working to prepare our Institutional Report, as part of the initial self-assessment.
Here are the WSCUC (our accrediting body) guidelines for the Institutional Report that provides more information about this step and accreditation altogether. In the following sections we have provided additional information related to the full accreditation process.
The Offsite Review (OSR) – Fall 2026
Purpose: To make preliminary findings based on the institutional report and additional documents.
•WASC review team members read the institutional report and other documents.
•Team shares impressions.
•Note issues they wish to follow-up.
•Develop questions for reaffirmation visit.
•Prepare Lines of Inquiry document.
Elements of the Visit
•WASC review team meets in executive session on the evening before the visit to campus begins.
•WASC review team holds interviews and meetings with individuals and groups – see sample schedule:

•Reviews documents and materials.
•Meets during the visit to discuss.
•Agrees on report commendations, recommendations, and confidential recommendation to the Commission.
•Morning of 3rd day the team chair has a meeting with the President, and the team reads commendations and recommendations in a public exit meeting.
