Career Services Summer Funding

Career Services Summer Funding

Important:

This program is managed through a competitive application process. Not all students who apply will receive funding, and not all students will receive the full amount they request. Applications will be assessed according to the application evaluation criteria described below. Before students begin their application, it is HIGHLY recommended they visit with a Career Services Advisor to discuss their applications and ask any pertinent questions.

Overview:

Career Services has been allocated generous gifts from Pitzer Alumni, Parents/Family Members, and Friends to provide funding for unpaid summer opportunities. The goal of this funding is to support student engagement in meaningful internship, project, and research experiences that facilitate career exploration and the development of professional skills and networks.

New:

We are ONLY accepting Pitzer Internship Fund (PIF) applications (the general summer funding source) from students who have secured an internship or research opportunity. This is a change from prior years when students could apply without a secured opportunity. The Sadava, Poon, Science Internship Funds (SIF) as well as the Ronald T. Scott Entrepreneurial Award will continue to accept applications without a secured opportunity.

Additionally, for the PIF there will be two internship & research opportunity application deadlines. The first deadline, March 15, is specifically for students with demonstrated financial need, which is defined by receiving need-based financial aid. The second deadline, April 15, is open to all students. However, for the second deadline, priority will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.
