Meet Brad Tharpe

Originally from East Tennessee, Brad arrived at Pitzer in March 2015 after serving for nearly 3 years as one of the chaplains at The Claremont Colleges. Before joining the Consortium, Brad served as Associate Director of the Master of Arts in Bioethics program and as Administrative Director of The Center for Bioethics, Health and Society at Wake Forest University. Before his work in bioethics, he worked in college chaplaincy as Director of the Office of Spiritual Life at DePauw University. Previously, he was Assistant Director of the Pro Humanitate Center at Wake Forest University, where he facilitated vocational discernment among students, faculty, and staff. Brad received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Classics from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Divinity degree from the Wake Forest University School of Divinity. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially on long car trips, and taking advantage of the wonderful cultural resources in the LA area.
