Bio
Kevin Berg Grell is an economist and educator whose work bridges sustainability, innovation, and strategic decision-making. He teaches at Pitzer College, where he leads courses in environmental economics, corporate finance, and managerial economics, with a strong emphasis on the green transition and long-term resilience. Kevin’s research explores how uncertainty, policy signals, and learning shape private investment behavior—particularly in climate-relevant sectors such as regenerative agriculture, agrivoltaics, and clean technology. He is also actively engaged in applied research, including collaborative projects on the social acceptance of sustainable viticulture, and real options in capital-intensive innovation (e.g. exploring the opportunity for agrivoltaics in the Inland Empire). Finally, he is currently working on a book that rethinks California as a case study in sustainable economic transformation.
