Tue

We will host a panel discussion with first-generation professionals who will share their experiences navigating graduate school, career development, mentorship, and professional growth. Lunch provided.

-

Founders Room, Bldg 517

This event is also intended for students who may be the first in their family to attend graduate school and are looking for guidance on how to navigate the graduate school experience successfully. Our hope is that all students, especially our first-generation students, feel seen and validated in their experiences and develop a strong sense of belonging on our campus. We also hope students gain practical strategies, encouragement, and resources to help them build connections, navigate challenges, and create their own path forward.

The Story Exchange is a weeklong, 7C-wide series of programs and activities that creates opportunities to share stories, listen to the experiences of others, and discover the connections that bring our community together.

Across The Claremont Colleges, students will be invited to participate as storytellers, listeners, creators, readers, and curious members of the community. Through conversations, music, art, reflection, and other forms of storytelling, The Story Exchange encourages us to look beyond first impressions, learn from different perspectives, and recognize both what we share and what makes each person’s experience distinct.
