Environmental Education Field trip_fellows

The Robert Redford Conservancy Environmental Education Program strives to promote and provide hands-on learning for K-12 students. Our Conservancy Fellows create curriculum for classroom discussions as well as giving walking tours on the Conservancy grounds to schoolchildren.

Such tours are designed to give schoolchildren a highly interactive experience with the local habitats of Claremont and Southern California.

For more information about school tours, please contact the Conservancy: rrc@pitzer.edu

More information about our tours

We provide free in-person field trips that are led by our Robert Redford Conservancy fellows. Trips are 2-4 hours long and include grade-specific activities in our outdoor classrooms. Classes that are larger than 70 students would need to request additional field trip days.

We are currently establishing a Sign-Up application for future field trips.

We expect our students to come prepare to learn and ask questions!  We do ask all teachers to remind their students to bring the following items:

  • Sun hat
  • Sun block
  • Water bottle (we have refillable water station)
  • Must wear jeans and enclosed shoes

Schools are allowed to bring snacks or lunches during their field trips, unless they are scheduled for a shorter time. The Robert Redford Conservancy has a trash policy:

  • Trash bins will be provided to allow students and guest to dispose of their trash.
  • Remember to always clean up after yourself!
