Coffee Cart

The mission of the Coffee Cart is to create an open, welcoming and engaging space for faculty, staff, and students to gather, fostering both social and intellectual connection within the Pitzer community. It serves as a hub for sharing campus news, promoting campaigns and projects, and expressing appreciation for the ongoing contributions of community members. Any member of the Pitzer community is welcome to host a Coffee Cart. For questions or more information, please reach out to coffeecart@pitzer.edu.

About Coffee Cart

Coffee Cart operated from 1999 through 2009 with the theme "Gimme a Break." After many requests from the community and support from Staff Council, Coffee Cart was revived beginning in 2014-15.

The Coffee Cart Committee (Coffee Cart Work Group) originated with the support of senior management, as a result of the College's interest in "reinventing our residential community through facilitating faculty/staff/student social and intellectual interactions," as sated in the April 1999 Comprehensive Planning document.

The Coffee Cart committee oversees a modest budget available to faculty, staff and students to apply. We are able to provide funding for 1 Coffee Cart per month during the academic year for 35 individuals. This includes:

  • Coffee (Regular and Decaf)
  • Tea
  • Water
  • Condiments
  • Paper Goods + Linens

This service is provided by Bon Appetit. If you require service for more than 35 individuals, your office/department/field group/club will be responsible for funding any additions.

You do not need to go through the Coffee Cart Committee if you are planning a coffee cart through your office/department/field group/club if you are the sole funding source. You can reach out to Bon Appetit directly.
