Meredith McLaughlin is a sociocultural anthropologists with interests in welfare, ethics, political futures, and decolonial thought. Her ethnographic research in India and the United States asks how people imagine the future of social policy and the norms of an equitable economy. 

Before coming to Pitzer College, Meredith was a Junior Research Fellow at Homerton College, Cambridge, with appointments in the Department of Anthropology and The Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute. She received her PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology from Yale University and her MPhil from the University of Oxford.
