The Melvin L. Oliver Racial Justice Initiative (RJI) invites you to a special event:

Screening of the film: "I’m Not the River Jhelum: Glimpses of Life in Kashmir"

Followed by an interview with the film’s Writer-Director, Prabhash Chandra: Recipient of the Best Debut Director award at the International Film Festival of Kerala, March 2022.

In Chandra’s words, “The idea of censorship is very difficult to deal with. At the same time, I feel this is our fight to be able to express ourselves in a constitutional way.”

This event would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of Prof. Deepti Gopal in organizing it.
