Claremont, Calif. (November 23, 2009) — The Provenance of Beauty: A South Bronx Travelogue, presented by Pitzer College and Pomona College, will be performed one day only on December 2, 2009.
The Provenance of Beauty, produced by New York-based Foundry Theatre, is a poetic travelogue originally performed on a bus touring through the South Bronx. Traveling the streets of the neighborhood, writer Claudia Rankine’s evocative text points out and reflects upon the sites that pass by outside the windows to asks what creates a neighborhood in a city, in a country, in the world.
The performers will bring the South Bronx to Claremont through a multimedia production that incorporates video footage, live performance and discussion.
