Penny Newman is the founder and Executive Director of the oldest and most well-respected environmental justice organization in the Inland region, the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice.
In her talk, Newman discusses the links of extreme weather, “natural disasters” and our reliance on fossil fuels and how that impacts our daily lives, and those most vulnerable to social and environmental burdens. Newman also talks about solutions — how everyday people can combat and prepare for the increasing changes on our natural and social environment, and move towards more just futures.
