COVID Visit Guidelines

ADMISSION VISITOR POLICY

Last Updated June 1st, 2023

We are excited to welcome you to campus! Pitzer has had a successful return to campus with our students, faculty, and staff working together to uphold our values and prioritize the safety of the entire community. Our high vaccination rates and booster requirements for community members allow us to proceed with campus programming with few additional safety guidelines in place.

Based on current LA County Health Guidelines, we are currently operating at a normal capacity for campus tours and large campus events. We will implement increased safety measures as needed should the situation change. Please see below for our updated visit protocols and policies.

GUIDELINES FOR CAMPUS VISITS

  • We ask that all admission guests are vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are unvaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask at all times throughout the duration of your visit.
  • If you are feeling ill prior to your campus visit, please reschedule – we will be glad to host you on another day when you are healthy.
  • Face coverings are currently not required on campus for vaccinated individuals, but feel free to mask up as you feel comfortable. For best protection for yourself and others, we recommend a 3-ply medical grade surgical, KN95, or N95 mask. We will have a handful of masks available at our front desk should you need one.
  • Tours registration is required in advance. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate additional guests or last minute drop-ins as a result of capacity limitations.
  • By visiting campus, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Help keep yourself and others healthy by following our guidelines and being respectful of our community needs.
  • If you will no longer be able to visit us on campus, it is not a problem. Join us for virtual tours, information sessions, and student drop-in sessions to learn more about Pitzer, the application process, and what distinguishes our programs.
  • We will continue to monitor COVID rates on campus and may need to make sudden amendments to our visitor policy. If you are joining us on campus, please keep an eye on your email for any relevant updates.

THE CLAREMONT COLLEGES

  • Each institution of The Claremont Colleges (TCC) will be tracking its own COVID data statistics. The institutions of TCC are also tracking a variety of COVID metrics at the consortium level to share internally as another method of monitoring and responding to the pandemic.
  • As a college and as a consortium, we are monitoring daily COVID positive rates separately for students and employees, as well as student quarantine rates. We continue to consult with medical experts and are prepared to change operational procedures should we see a significant increase in the rate of cases, the number of total cases, or the utilization of quarantine and isolation spaces.
  • Please note that as a result of individual COVID tracking and distinct campus policies, the protocol for visitors is not uniform across the Claremont Colleges. If you plan to visit multiple campuses within the consortium during your time in Claremont, you will need to check the visitor guidelines and COVID policies of each individual college.
