Kwansei Gakuin University – Summer Program

Host Institution: Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan https://ciec.kwansei.ac.jp/study/shortprograms/

Eligibilty
Students must be in good academic standing at Pitzer College and have a 2.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Application
Students must first apply through Pitzer’s Office of Study Abroad and International Programs. The deadline to apply for the summer 2024 program is February 1 2024. Interested students should email the study abroad office to receive an application. If accepted by Pitzer, students will then complete the Kwansei Gakuin application.

Program Dates
The summer program dates vary each year- the program typically runs from early June- mid-July

Study Trips
Students have short study trips which may include visits to Nara, Asuka and Yoshino, Nissin Cupnoodles Museum, Toyota (Nagoya) or Kyoto (Fushimi Inari-taisha, Kinkaku-ji).

Housing and Board Options
Students will live with host families or in international dormitories provided by KGU depending upon availability. Host families are located within a 60-minute commute to KGU. Host families provide breakfast and dinner on weekdays and three meals a day on weekends. The international dorms are self-catered.

KGU will accept a maximum of two (2) students for the summer program.
