Eligibility
Bard College requires participants to have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to juniors and first semester seniors but qualified sophomores are eligible if space is available.

Application
Students must first apply through Pitzer’s Office of Study Abroad and International Programs. If accepted by Pitzer, students will then be asked to complete the Bard online application.

Program Dates
Fall semester: late August to late December
Spring semester: mid-January to mid-May

Required Courses
Students are required to take the Core Seminar: The City as a Global Actor – New York at the Center of the World.

Course Options
Students will take advanced courses in international affairs. Courses will meet in the late afternoon and early evening to accommodate daytime internships. For course options, go to https://bgia.bard.edu/academics/courses/.

Internships

Credit Possible
Students are required to take a total of 16 credits at Bard in order to earn four course credits at Pitzer.  This includes three electives plus the Core Seminar: NYC. The internship is one component of the seminar (not a separate course).  This is an intensive program.  Students should be willing and able to carry this load.

Housing and Board Options
The student residence is in student dorms in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. All dorms are double-occupancy and include attached, en suite bathrooms, a mini-fridge, microwave, and sink. Dormitories are self-catering with a shared kitchen with ovens, stoves,
and full-size fridges but there is not a cafeteria or meal plan. Pitzer will provide an allowance to cover food costs.

Additional Notes
No more than two exchanges places per semester are available, provided that the exchange is in balance. Pitzer students may only apply for one semester of participation.
