Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

SHIP Information for Academic Year 2023-24

Pitzer College requires that all enrolled students have comprehensive medical insurance that is accessible in Claremont and comparable to the Claremont Colleges health insurance plan. At The Claremont Colleges, we offer Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which many students have found valuable.

You will be automatically enrolled in SHIP every year until proof of comparable coverage is provided and a waiver is submitted. Waiving out is an annual process. You may waive out if you have a comparable policy with a private insurance company. If you do not waive out by the stated deadlines, you will remain enrolled in SHIP and the fee is not refundable.

The *estimated* annual fee for SHIP for the 2022-23 academic year is $2,996.

The waiver portal will be available to returning students on May 1, 2023 and available to new students by July 15, 2023.
