There are some very important forms and tasks that you need to complete throughout the summer, before you arrive at Pitzer. Below is information on some of the to-do items, but make sure to check your SageDen throughout the summer to track deadlines and view new information.
Committed first-year students will receive their SageDen login credentials after May 20, 2019. Transfer and New Resource students will receive their SageDen login credentials after June 20, 2019
- 1. Housing Application & Residence Hall Agreement
All first year students are required to live on-campus. Transfer and New Resource students are not required to live on-campus, but can apply for housing if they choose. Housing placement and roommate matches are made based on the answers provided in the Housing Application. You will also need to submit the Pitzer College Residence Hall Agreement. The Housing Application & Residence Hall Agreement can be found on your SageDen. Housing assignments will be announced in late July.
- 2. Orientation Adventure Registration Form
All incoming first year students, including international students, are required to go on an Orientation Adventure trip and all transfer and New Resource students are highly encouraged to go on an OA trip as part of their broader orientation to Pitzer College. Unfortunately at this time exchange students are unable to participate in an OA trip. All fall athletes will participate in two days of a local or front country OA trip. The Orientation Adventure Registration Form can be found on your SageDen. OA Trip placements will be announced in late July.
- 3. First Year Seminar Preference Form
First Year Seminars (FYS) are writing-intensive courses that fulfill the college’s Written Expression educational objective. They are required of all first year students, and additionally there is a specific seminar for New Resource & Transfer students. For more information and the fall 2019 seminar descriptions, visit the First Year Seminar Program website.
The FYS Preference Form can be found on your SageDen. FYS placements will be announced in late July.
- 4. Photo Submission for Pitzer ID Card
All new students need to submit a photo to be used for your Pitzer ID card.
The ID Card Photo Submission form can be found on your SageDen. Photos must be submitted on time or you will not have an ID card when you arrive on campus in August to access your residence hall or the dining hall.
- 5. Entrance Physical & Immunization Records
Your Entrance Physical & Immunization Records should be filled out and submitted directly to Claremont University Consortium (CUC) Student Health Services. Please review all the information thoroughly before submitting the completed form to CUC Student Health Services. You may choose to submit your completed form by mail or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please take a moment to visit the Student Health Services website as it contains important information such as the SHS forms including the entrance physical forms, psychiatric medication policy, and vaccine information. Although the Student Health Center is closed for the summer, you may access additional information regarding Student Health Services by visiting their website or calling and leaving a voicemail message at 909.621.8222 which is checked weekly.
- 6. Medical Insurance Information
Health insurance coverage is required for all continuing and newly matriculated Pitzer students. It is the student’s responsibility to keep the College informed of changes in insurance coverage and coverage must be confirmed every year via the online waiver portal. Students will be automatically enrolled in the Claremont Colleges Student Health Insurance Plan until proof of comparable coverage is provided and a waiver is submitted via the online waiver portal by the September 7, 2019 deadline.
The online waiver portal for the 2019/2020 academic year will open June 7, 2019 through September 7, 2019. Students can obtain a 100 percent refund one week before or on the first day of class. After the first day of class the medical coverage charge is non-refundable.
Please note that you will need to have your Pitzer student ID # in order to access the online medical insurance wavier portal. You will be able to find your Pitzer student ID # on the top right corner of the homepage of the SageDen. Many of your Student Health Insurance questions can be answered by reviewing the information found via the links below. - 7. Pitzer Academic Support Services (PASS) Accommodation Requests

- 8. W.M. Keck Summer Science Immersion Program
Keck Science Department has a summer programs designed for incoming first-year Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps students: Summer Science Immersion Program (SScIP). SScIP is a week-long summer bridge program designed for students who are first-generation college students, who are from groups traditionally underrepresented in science, and/or who attended under-resourced high schools.
