Academic Coach
So much has changed since my last post in this newsletter. We are all adjusting to new ways of learning and providing academic support and much of it has not been easy. Academic coaching is also transforming as many of my strategies no longer apply to working away from school. A few things that that remain the same are the need for accountability and reassurance that you are progressing academically. I am still here for you in both of those ways. I am available to meet privately via Zoom to help you come up with a study plan for the day or the week, remind you to set SMART goals, and to cheer you on when you have completed a task. A new feature of coaching is my Virtual Study Room (VSR). VSR is a Zoom meeting that is dedicated to helping you commit to a place and time to study. There are other students in the meeting so it has the feel of walking into the library and seeing others sitting at a table working beside you. VSR is at 1:00, Monday-Friday.
If you are interested in setting up a private coaching session or being a part of Virtual Study Room, you can contact me at [email protected].

Pitzer College Art Galleries in collaboration with the Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement invites the Pitzer Community to the first in a series of “Stay at Home” artist talks. 5 Distillations (Salton Sea) examines the political frameworks and biophysical processes that created—and now imperil—the largest body of water in the State of California. Drawing from empirical observation, archival research and the artist’s long-term collaboration with the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians, this project reflects upon the inevitable collapse of a vast inland sea that has sustained the indigenous people of this region since time immemorial. A brief Q & A will follow the talk. For more information, click here.
