Dear Pitzer Community,
Yesterday during the Pitzer College Board of Trustees meeting, a number of students and other members of the Pitzer community expressed concerns about working conditions for Dining and Facilities staff. The Board acknowledges the concerns expressed and always seeks to ensure good working conditions for every Pitzer College employee.
On August 25, 2022, a letter to the community announced the College’s recognition of UNITE HERE Local 11 as the exclusive bargaining representative for non-supervisory Dining and Facilities staff employed by Pitzer College. Pitzer has been negotiating in good faith since then to ensure a fair collective bargaining agreement for our employees, and these negotiations continue.
